Top SchoolAlexander Maniates is a Senior Software Engineer with 11 years of experience building reliable, high-throughput backend systems focused on distributed infrastructure, search, and voice platforms. He has driven measurable product impact at Spotify—reducing voice-search latency and increasing audiobook engagement—and now works on Apache Pinot infrastructure at HubSpot to power event-driven features. Comfortable across Kafka, Zookeeper, HBase, and JVM-based services, he repeatedly improves operational resilience through automation (automated broker replacements, uptime SLAs, on-demand cert provisioning). His background includes production performance work from CUDA-accelerated research to large-scale recommendation systems, showing a blend of low-level optimization and service-oriented design. Based in Boston, he pairs pragmatic engineering with a demonstrated knack for turning reliability investments into clear user-facing gains.
