Summary
🤩
RockstarAlexander Payne is a senior software engineer with 11 years of experience building low-level and embedded systems, currently focused on edge device and foundational library work. He is an expert in Rust, fluent in C and C++, and quickly adapts to higher-level stacks like Ruby, Elixir, Python, and Go when orchestration or web layers are needed. His background spans satellite firmware for CubeSats, prototype networking devices at AWS where he was the Rust SME, and ingress traffic modules at Fastly integrated into a C codebase. Now based in Madison, WI, he brings production-grade embedded engineering to industrial and consumer contexts at Sub-Zero Group. Known for writing fast, idiomatic Rust and performance-minded C++, he combines systems-level rigor with practical cross-stack fluency. Outside work he pairs hardware-minded precision with a knack for translating low-level constraints into maintainable software designs.
