Top SchoolAlexander Prokopyev is a director-level product architect and hands-on software engineer with over a decade of experience designing geo-distributed, high-load systems and leading teams from startup MVPs to enterprise-scale platforms. Currently at Five9, he blends deep systems architecture expertise with proven cost- and performance-optimizations—historically cutting infrastructure costs by as much as 65% and accelerating release cadence fourfold. He has built real-time ad-serving and IoT platforms that processed thousands of events per second, and his code-level fluency means he still tackles “hardcore” debugging and complex production issues personally. As a former CTO and founder, he pairs strategic product thinking with mentorship, having guided and grown engineering teams through acquisitions and rapid scaling. He also contributes to the IntelliJ plugins testing ecosystem, improving test reporting and automation for a widely used IDE platform. Based in Austin, he combines entrepreneurial grit with pragmatic architecture leadership that consistently turns ambitious requirements into reliable, measurable systems.
