Top SchoolAlexander Savchuk is a Principal Engineer and platform-focused technologist with 11+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems and data platforms that serve millions of users. He combines hands-on expertise across Kafka/event streaming, Kubernetes, Terraform/Helm, CI/CD and observability with SRE practices to drive reliable, automated delivery both on-prem and in AWS. At Westpac and Xero he led platform projects, championed secrets and incident practices, and created team knowledge-sharing patterns that scaled across organisations. A pragmatic generalist, he shifts comfortably between infrastructure-as-code, deployment scripting (PowerShell/bash) and designing data pipelines, and he’s authored a Terraform video course to teach others Infrastructure as Code. Based in Wellington, he prefers remote roles with a high degree of autonomy and impact beyond pure coding.
