Top SchoolAlexandros Korkovelos is a senior energy planning professional and geospatial analyst with eight years of experience applying remote sensing, big data and spatial modeling to electrification and net-zero planning across Africa and beyond. He currently leads technical delivery for Zambia’s Electrification Platform at SEforALL while contributing to integrated energy plans and tools—soft-linking least-cost electrification and system optimization models—for countries including Sierra Leone, Mozambique and Madagascar. Previously he supported geospatial electrification analytics and capacity building at the World Bank and helped shape the spatial analyses in IEA’s Africa Energy Outlook and multiple OnSSET-based toolkits. Trained to PhD level in Energy Systems Analysis at KTH, Alexandros blends academic rigor with practical tool development (OnSSET, SPIDER, OBi) and hands-on project management. Colleagues describe him as outgoing and highly engaged in continuous improvement, able to translate complex geodata into policy-ready insights. Beyond modeling, he focuses on bridging data to planning through user engagement and knowledge products that accelerate energy access solutions.
