Alexei Abrahams is an Assistant Professor and researcher with a decade of experience at the intersection of misinformation, information security, and big data social science. He blends rigorous economics training (PhD from Brown) with data engineering and streaming expertise to study how cybersecurity and information disorders unfold at scale, drawing on roles at Harvard Kennedy School, Citizen Lab, Princeton, and the World Bank. Based in Doha, he currently leads digital initiatives at The Centre for Media, Technology and Democracy while building an academic program at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. His background in both theoretical economics and hands-on data pipelines lets him translate complex causal questions into reproducible, production-ready analyses—an uncommon combination in the misinformation space.
