Top SchoolAlexei Vanyashin is a founder and type designer with over a decade of experience building multi-script typefaces and leading a niche design studio, Cyreal, from Almaty Region. He combines deep technical skill in font development with scholarly expertise in Cyrillic and Greek scripts, evidenced by a long tenure as Cyrillic Script Chair at the Granshan competition. Alexei has taught typography and FontLab workflows at several institutions, bridging practical production and pedagogy for motion designers and graphic students. His work blends classical training from Stroganov and the British Higher School of Art and Design with hands-on type design practice, making him as comfortable setting typographic standards as shipping retail and custom fonts. Less obvious: he moves fluidly between competitive judging, classroom mentorship, and the detailed engineering of font families, giving him a rare 360° perspective on contemporary type design.
