Denver, Colorado, United States
Summary
👤
SeniorAlexey Bochkov is a Senior Manager and Database Architect with over 20 years of experience designing and operating high-scale database systems, now leading SQL Server and cloud database administration at United Airlines from Denver. He combines deep Microsoft SQL Server expertise with hands-on AWS, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, .NET and Python skills to deliver resilient, high-performance platforms and successful cloud migrations. Alexey has repeatedly driven measurable cost savings and reliability improvements—most notably optimizing a 35TB SQL Server that avoided over $1M in hardware spend—and has led cross-cutting projects like Aurora PostgreSQL productionisation and ClickHouse adoption. Known for blending strategic leadership with day-to-day engineering, he focuses on automation, HADR, and pragmatic performance tuning to meet strict SLAs. Not obvious from titles alone: he began his career building ERP systems and community-facing developer content in Russia, which shaped his strengths in end-to-end solutions and stakeholder communication.
