Top SchoolAlexey Potapov is a Python developer with 11 years of experience who combines academic rigor—holding a Kandidat Nauk in welding technologies—with practical software engineering delivered at large Russian companies. He currently works at Rostelecom and has a strong track record as backend developer at HeadHunter, where he designed microservices, revived test infrastructure, and modernized legacy Django systems. As a longtime educator and mentor at Bauman MSTU and Yandex Practicum, he authors courses, reviews student work, and guides junior engineers, blending teaching with hands-on production delivery. His technical toolkit centers on Python, FastAPI/Django, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Docker, Celery and test automation, with notable experience integrating external services and messaging systems. Comfortable moving research into production, he repeatedly bridges complex domain knowledge and engineering pragmatism to deliver reliable, testable systems. Based in Kaluga, he brings an unusual mix of deep academic research experience and pragmatic product-oriented backend development.
