Senior🎓
Top SchoolAli Basiri is a reliability-focused engineering leader and founder with 12 years of experience building fault-tolerant, high-scale systems from early-stage startups to Netflix and Robinhood. As Co-Founder of Doctly.ai he now applies novel agentic approaches to extract accurate text from challenging PDFs—tables, low-quality images, and handwriting—bringing a deep systems mindset to ML-driven document intelligence. Previously he led resilience and load/fault engineering teams, architecting chaos automation, distributed load testing, and global traffic failover platforms at Netflix and driving capacity and core reliability at Robinhood. An early engineer at PagerDuty and a longtime advisor and investor to startups, he blends hands-on performance engineering roots from NVIDIA with pragmatic product sensibility. Based in Saratoga, California, he’s known for obsessing over the “undifferentiated heavy lifting” of reliability and turning complex failure modes into repeatable engineering practices.
