Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlice Patania is an Assistant Research Professor and computational topologist with a decade of experience developing methodology for complex systems, specializing in applying algebraic topology and geometry to data analysis. Her research focuses on topological data analysis for brain data and on building random models for simplicial complexes, bridging theoretical math and empirical neuroscience. Trained with a PhD in Applied Mathematics (cum laude) from Politecnico di Torino, she has held research roles at IUNI and ISI Foundation and now leads work at the University of Vermont. Colleagues know her for “spreading the TDA verb” into neuroscience—translating abstract topological tools into actionable insights for brain modeling.
