Top SchoolAlvaro Alvarez is a bilingual Biomedical Informatics Data Scientist with 11 years of experience designing and implementing clinical data systems and analytics at Stanford and in international research centers. He combines hands-on software skills (Python, SQL, PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS) with deep expertise in REDCap customization, ETL pipelines, and data quality management to accelerate clinical research workflows. At Stanford he automated reporting and built dashboards that turned a weekly analytics cycle into near real-time decisioning and cut support tickets through targeted scripting. He has led REDCap deployments, trained hundreds of users, and authored external modules when standard tools fell short—bridging investigator needs with Agile software delivery. Comfortable moving between technical implementation and stakeholder-facing project management, he also brings practical grant- and operations-experience from multinational clinical studies in Latin America.
