Top SchoolÁlvaro Giménez is a Software Architect based in Madrid with 10 years of experience building distributed, reactive systems primarily in the Scala ecosystem. He has led architecture and platform work—designing DDD/CQRS libraries, security infrastructures (OIDC/OAuth2), and time-series DSLs—while operating at scale for millions of weekly users. His background spans backend engineering, technical leadership and scrum mastery, with deep hands-on expertise in Akka, Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and functional libraries like Cats and Shapeless. At vidIQ he designed video conferencing and transcription pipelines integrating Whisper.AI and AWS, and more recently he’s driving architecture at LEGÁLITAS. An electronics hobbyist and pianist/composer, he brings a practical tinkerer’s mindset to system design, often turning complex, domain-heavy problems into elegant DSL-driven solutions.
