Top SchoolAmanda Southworth is a mission-driven CTO and co-founder with 11 years of experience building privacy- and safety-focused software that serves vulnerable communities at scale. She founded and ran Astra Labs, a nonprofit whose Flutter-based apps and 100+ item design system reached millions and drove an industry-leading cost-per-person-helped reduction. At Faura she continues to blend hands-on engineering with product leadership, owning everything from user research and prototyping to shipping and operations. Amanda has deep experience translating high-stakes stakeholder needs—sex workers, survivors, clinicians—into risk-managed, accessible features and scalable volunteer-led development processes. She pairs a pragmatic maker’s mentality (“write code good”) with systems thinking that reduces cost and increases real-world impact. Based in New York, she’s quietly obsessed with building software that can literally save lives.
