Top SchoolAmit Kumar is a VP of Engineering with a decade of experience building high-performance distributed systems and leading teams to ship complex, safety-critical products. As a founding engineer at PlusAI he led sensor, compute and vehicle integration and helmed the development and commercialization of a Level 4 autonomous trucking stack that achieved high-profile milestones like CES demos and a coast-to-coast freight run. His background includes architecting large-scale search and conversational agent platforms at Yahoo, where he built web-scale indexes, dialog managers and reusable skills frameworks while earning top internal honors. Known for hands-on engineering, he still contributes code across perception, planning and simulation domains, bridging research and production. Based in California, he combines low-level systems expertise in C++ with modern distributed design, and an unexpected thread through his career is repeatedly turning experimental prototypes into operational platforms.
