Top SchoolAmitai Stern is a software engineer with nine years of experience building and operating large-scale telemetry and search systems, currently at Meta and serving on the OpenSearch Technical Steering Committee. He led Logz.io’s Telemetry Storage team, owning production stability, cost reductions, and migrations from Elasticsearch and M3DB to OpenSearch and Thanos, and has hands-on expertise in automating data management in distributed microservices. Comfortable coding in Java/Kotlin and running mission-critical clusters, Amitai blends engineering leadership—mentoring on-call rotations and guilds—with active open-source stewardship in one of the most widely used vector search projects. With a background that pairs a CS degree and a BFA in Art, he brings both technical rigor and creative problem-solving to observability and search infrastructure challenges.
