Summary
👤
SeniorAmos Lanka is a senior staff engineer in Portland with 15+ years building full-stack web and mobile systems, currently shaping platform reliability and architecture at Coinbase. He blends West Coast intellect with a Midwestern work ethic, favoring thoughtful design before code and end-to-end ownership of features that deliver business value. Deep experience in Rails, SOA, serverless AWS, REST APIs, testing and CI is matched by hands-on familiarity with databases, messaging, and DevOps. A social coder and mentor, he has led search, API, and auth initiatives at scale and contributed backend work and tests to open-source Ruby tooling such as an in-app purchase receipt verification gem. Outside of engineering he’s an avid motorcyclist and fly-fisher who never misses an opportunity to smoke meat or spoil a hound dog.
