Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolAnas Alkouz is a seasoned software leader with 18+ years in software development and a decade-plus of leadership, currently managing OpenSearch development at Amazon from Bellevue, WA. He has repeatedly led large, cross-functional teams to build high-performance search, catalog and recommendation platforms—driving results like 900K RPM catalogue performance and major search relevancy and conversion improvements. At Amazon he’s steered Alexa Automations and MENA tech initiatives, delivering Arabic language support, right-to-left UX, and cold-start relevancy fixes for regional marketplaces. His background spans full-stack engineering, search engines (Solr/OpenSearch), and data-driven ranking systems, with hands-on experience migrating legacy systems and building real-time ingestion and analytics pipelines. Colleagues know him for combining product-focused roadmapping with deep architectural rigor and measurable performance gains. Unusually for a manager, he still digs into indexing and relevance algorithms, retaining a practitioner’s appetite for algorithmic detail.
