Senior🎓
Top SchoolAndre Barbosa is a Senior Data & Applied Scientist with 11 years of experience building production ML and knowledge-mining systems, currently working on Microsoft Search and Assistant. He combines strong engineering discipline with academic rigor from USP and an MS in Computer Science to deliver scalable solutions using Spark, big data stacks, and modern NLP models. At QuintoAndar he shipped productionized models like a neural quantile pricing system and a Portuguese BERT for routing, optimizing latency with ONNX runtime for 3x faster inference. He has a track record across startups and enterprises—Elo7, Dell EMC and Creditas—tackling recommendations, fraud/finance use cases and distributed ML pipelines. Beyond product work he teaches applied ML topics (from NLP to gradient boosting) and explored quantum approaches to neural networks during early research, reflecting a mix of practical impact and intellectual curiosity. Based in São Paulo, he focuses on translating research-grade models into robust, inference-efficient data products.
