Summary
👤
SeniorAndré Luís is a Senior Engineering Manager based in Lisbon with 8+ years leading frontend teams and a long history building web products since his teens. At GitLab he scaled and staffed multiple frontend groups, drove performance and AI-integration initiatives (including editor extensions and language server work), and improved hiring and code review processes for remote teams. He combines an MSc in Computer Engineering with pragmatic, user-centered design instincts and a strong emphasis on web standards, accessibility and usability. A polyglot developer comfortable across Rust, Java, TypeScript and Python, he prefers work that will be used by many people rather than innovations that nobody adopts. Colleagues know him as a hands-on mentor who fosters cohesion through practical team rituals and measurable process improvements.
