Andrea Bondavalli is a hands-on Software Engineering Manager based in Zurich with two decades of embedded and systems engineering experience and eight years in leadership roles. Currently heading EPAM’s DevOps, Cloud and System Engineers in Switzerland, he combines deep firmware and embedded Linux expertise (Yocto, device drivers, U-Boot) with cloud and web service delivery experience from roles at Nuance and others. He has repeatedly led teams through platform adoptions—most notably driving Linux adoption for portable test instruments and building BSPs, drivers and upgrade mechanisms—and still codes across C/C++, Python and shell. A practical systems thinker, he blends low-level hardware understanding with DevOps and CI/CD practices to bridge product engineering and infrastructure. Outside work he’s a committed cyclist, suggesting the same endurance and focus he brings to long, complex engineering efforts.
