Top SchoolAndrea Fomera is a Senior Software Engineer with 11 years of experience and 8+ focused on building and scaling Ruby on Rails applications, currently contributing at Zipline. She has led migrations and modernizations—shifting stacks between React and full-stack Rails, upgrading Rails and Ruby, and improving deployment and developer productivity across multiple teams. An active educator and speaker, she authored two Rails courses used by 2,000+ developers and has presented at RailsConf and Rails World, translating complex Rails concepts into hands-on curricula. Her product-facing work includes rebuilding editors, APIs, and domain proxy systems that scaled from hundreds to thousands of customers, and she regularly mentors engineers on maintainable architecture. Based in Denver, she balances engineering with outdoor pursuits like hiking and mountain biking and brings practical ops experience from earlier roles where she automated inventory and cloud infrastructure tasks.
