Top SchoolAndrea Usuelli is a Principal Engineer with 13 years of experience building and scaling highly concurrent, distributed systems from startup projects to fast-growing insurance tech. He progressed from strong database and sysadmin roots through DevOps and functional programming into CTO and VP Engineering roles, combining hands-on engineering with strategic leadership. At Prima he architected and maintained a large AWS microservices platform, wrote bespoke tools in Elixir, Rust, Ruby and Python, and automated QA environments that accelerated developer velocity. He has a track record of shipping resilient infrastructure—ECS, CloudFormation, ELK, Aurora, DynamoDB—and solving performance and abuse-detection problems with custom services. Comfortable coordinating across design, marketing and product, he turns technical complexity into products used by thousands daily. Outside corporate roles he co-founded and scaled Italiansubs.net to tens of millions of monthly pageviews, showing a long-standing focus on scalability and community-driven systems.
