Andreas Echavez
Senior Software Engineer at Netflix
Saint George, Utah, United States
Summary
🤩
RockstarAndreas Echavez is a senior software engineer with 11 years of experience building and operating large distributed systems across infrastructure, streaming, and observability at companies like Netflix, Datadog, Twitch, and AWS. He combines hands-on coding in Go, Python, and Ruby with infrastructure-as-code expertise (Terraform, CDK, Puppet) to deliver resilient cloud-native platforms on AWS, Azure, and GCP. Notable achievements include designing multi-account AWS networking and Azure PrivateLink at Datadog that uncovered $10M in savings and ongoing $1M/year cost reductions, and building an upgrade orchestration system for millions of IVS endpoints at AWS. He’s equally comfortable owning low-level networking, DNS, and deployment automation as he is defining SLOs, security observability, and cross-team programs. Based in Saint George, Utah, Andreas brings a practitioner’s focus on operational excellence and technical debt reduction, often translating complex infra problems into measurable business impact.
