Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolAndrew Decker is a Cloud Applications Engineer with over a decade of professional software engineering experience, currently building secure, scalable data search and entity tracking systems for cybersecurity at Trustwave. He blends backend expertise (Postgres, Redis, FastAPI) with pragmatic product thinking, having shipped Universal Search and Entity Store features that translate SQL into LINQ and protect data with robust ACLs and allowlists. Prior roles include accelerating renewable energy analytics with geospatial PostGIS services, founding mobile products with analytics-driven releases, and bootstrapping data science stacks using SageMaker and Airflow. He routinely squeezes orders-of-magnitude performance gains from SQL and geospatial queries and proactively eliminates security risks like SQL injection. Based in Minneapolis, he pairs a curiosity-driven engineering mindset—summed up on GitHub as "Code, Creativity, Curiosity"—with a background spanning biomedical research and product-facing mobile work. Notably, he has experience translating complex domain queries into safe cross-store execution layers, a non-obvious bridge between data engineering and security.
