Summary
👤
SeniorAndrew Fan is a software developer engineer with 12 years of experience, currently building scalable commerce platform services at AWS in New York, working across legacy Java systems and modern serverless stacks like AWS Lambda and CDK. A Johns Hopkins MSE graduate, he blends practical engineering with a knack for tooling and automation—examples range from automating billing error checks in academia to contributing transit-map and Touhou community tools on GitHub. He enjoys guiding projects from design through delivery and has taught software engineering and programming languages, helping students adopt tools like Git, Postman, and OCaml. Outside engineering he’s a hobbyist game designer and transit network enthusiast who applies graphic design instincts to schematic transit maps and flags, bringing visual clarity to complex systems. This combination of backend reliability, user-focused tooling, and spatial/visual problem-solving gives him an unusual edge in building tools that help people in daily life.
