Andrew Ghobrial
Summary
👤
SeniorAndrew Ghobrial is a Senior Backend Engineer and AWS Architect with 10 years of experience designing observable, cost-aware cloud platforms and shipping resilient services. He specializes in TypeScript/Node.js on an AWS-first stack—Terraform, CloudFormation, Serverless Framework, ECS/Fargate, RDS/Postgres and DynamoDB—and builds event-driven systems with SQS/SNS and EventBridge. Andrew consistently automates delivery with GitHub Actions, instruments systems for metrics and alerts, and favors small, measurable iterations that improve reliability and reduce cost. He has led architecture and delivery for consumer and AI-driven products—charting migrations of GPU workloads to EC2 for cost/performance gains—and mentored teams through clear runbooks and architecture diagrams. Comfortable across backend, DevOps and cloud-native patterns, he brings pragmatic leadership from hands-on coding to platform-level decision making. Outside work he’s an avid traveler and competitive chess, table tennis and football player, which he says sharpens his strategic thinking.
