Top SchoolAndrew Newton is a Principal Engineer with 14 years of formal experience and a multi-decade career building resilient internet infrastructure and developer-facing systems at organizations including ICANN, AWS, ARIN, and VeriSign. He blends hands-on coding and architecture with people and project leadership, having served as both an individual contributor and manager while authoring technical standards for standards bodies. A pragmatic problem-solver, he is known for tackling complex, production-critical challenges and shipping auditable, maintainable solutions. An open source and Linux enthusiast who runs the Northern Virginia Linux Users Group, he still enjoys tinkering—his default impulse for tricky problems is “rewrite it in Rust.” Based in Falls Church, VA, he focuses on delivering software that serves the greater good and bridges operational, security, and protocol-level concerns.
