Top SchoolAndrew Ortman is a Senior Lead Machine Learning Engineer based in Austin with 11+ years of experience building production-first ML and infrastructure systems that survive real-world scale and complexity. He’s led high-impact projects at Indeed—shipping LLM-driven job recommendation pipelines that generated tens of millions of daily personalized emails and materially increased hires—and has deep experience designing low-latency, globally distributed services from his time at Apple. Early work includes building deployment tooling that scaled Indeed’s engineering org and a distributed crawler and DOM-classifier at Wikibuy, showing his breadth across backend, data, and infrastructure. He combines hands-on coding with technical leadership, mentoring dozens of engineers and guiding cross-organizational design decisions. Known for turning unlikely ideas into reliable products, he prefers measurable business impact and pragmatic monitoring/quality workflows for ML in production.
