Andrew Scherkus is a seasoned software leader and founder with 15 years of experience building large-scale media and mobility systems. As Co-Founder and CTO of Roundtrip.ai, he now focuses on data infrastructure for smarter cities after a decade at Google where he led HTML5 media efforts, helped standardize MSE/EME, and earned a Technical Emmy for transforming web media at scale. He also incubated AR/VR and 360-degree media work and served as a Seattle site lead, demonstrating a blend of product-minded engineering and cross-industry collaboration. Prior to Roundtrip, he led new mobility ventures at Ford X, running scooter-share R&D that directly informed Ford’s strategic moves in the space. Based in Toronto with a Software Engineering degree from Waterloo, he combines deep protocol and playback expertise with hands-on startup execution. Notably, his career shows a pattern of inventing practical prototypes to de-risk large organizations’ bets on emerging platforms.
