Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolAndrey Omelyanuk is a pragmatic tech lead with a decade of hands-on experience building and scaling web backends and leading small engineering teams across startups and product companies. He specializes in Python/Django ecosystems, REST API design, performance optimization and accounting/reporting systems, and has a track record of taking projects from first commit to production. Comfortable as both an individual contributor and manager, he has worked remotely since 2013 and sustained a long freelance presence on Upwork, demonstrating strong autonomous delivery skills. Andrey has repeatedly built teams from scratch—most notably growing a startup engineering group to double digits—and prefers roles that increase others’ productivity through automation. His early career in high-volume banking systems gives him practical expertise in optimizing heavy SQL workloads and reducing deadlocks, a less obvious strength that informs his approach to reliable systems. Currently based in Belarus, he combines startup grit with disciplined engineering practices to ship pragmatic solutions under tight constraints.
