Top SchoolAndy Regensky is a software engineer and research associate specializing in image and 360-degree video signal processing, with nine years of experience building high-performance systems in C/C++, Python, CUDA, PyTorch and OpenCV. He designed and published practical coding tools that improved bitrate efficiency for both traditional codecs (H.266/VVC) and AI-based compression—achieving measurable savings of over 3% and 7% respectively—and engineered an uncompressed 8K 360° capture system handling >3.2 GB/s. Combining a PhD in Information Technology with hands-on firmware and hardware integration experience, he bridges algorithm research and production implementation, from generative model training to embedded camera firmware. Known for a pragmatic problem-solving mindset, Andy has also reduced testing costs via a large-scale codec testing framework and mentored students while presenting at top conferences and journals.
