Senior🎓
Top SchoolAndy Spiers is a Senior Cloud Engineer specialising in platform engineering, DevOps and cloud-native architecture with nine years focused on large-scale enterprise e-commerce systems. He combines hands‑on engineering and technical architecture skills—particularly AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes and container orchestration—to design and operate resilient platforms that have weathered major retail peaks like Black Friday. As director of a London consultancy he led high-traffic container platforms for Argos and contributed to shared Kubernetes designs for Sainsbury’s, marrying operational rigor with automation. Based in Sheffield and trained in physics at Imperial College, he brings a data‑driven, metrics-focused approach to performance tuning, load‑balancing and observability. Notably, his background spans both legacy orchestration (Mesos/Marathon) and modern stacks, giving him a pragmatic perspective on migration and platform evolution.
