Anish Mariathasan is a biomedical engineer and co-founder with nine years of hands-on experience building MedTech and AI systems that move from research prototypes to production. While completing an MEng at Imperial on an academic scholarship, he developed real-time cancer cell detection models in a Harvard–University of Hong Kong lab and explored interpretability for multimodal vision-language models in his thesis. In industry he shipped production C++ instrument software and a Python natural-language data-query tool that cut a 30+ minute workflow to 10 seconds at Oxford Nanopore. He also has embedded firmware experience in C for medical imaging devices and has run a startup through Kickstart’s incubator program. Passionate about bridging AI and clinical impact, he’s currently building a stealth MedTech venture and brings both deep technical craft and translational research instincts to product-focused teams. Anish’s background combines low-latency computer vision, transformer-based segmentation, and practical automation—skills he leverages to turn complex biomedical problems into usable tools.
