Summary
👤
SeniorAnnie Ying is an engineering manager specializing in custom LLM models with two decades of experience at the intersection of AI, NLP, and data science. She has led cross-functional teams to productionize GPT-4-based RAG systems and conversational bots, and previously delivered multi-million-dollar impact at Cisco by building sales ops ML and scalable ML infrastructure. A PhD holder and former IBM/TJ Watson research scientist, she combines deep research pedigree—8 patents and 20+ publications—with hands-on ML engineering across cloud-native stacks (GCP, Kubernetes, MongoDB). Known for shipping socially impactful NLP solutions (WHO-cited suicide-prevention work and a Cisco award) she equally excels at founding robust data pipelines, logging/feedback systems, and novel query engines that translate natural language into scalable database queries. Based in Vancouver, she’s comfortable moving between startup agility and Fortune 500 governance, and often finds high-leverage opportunities by marrying research insights with pragmatic productization.
