Senior🎓
Top SchoolAntonios Valkanas is an applied scientist and PhD researcher in deep learning based in Montreal with eight years of industry and research experience bridging cutting-edge ML research and production systems. He has driven multimodal and graph-based deep learning projects at scale—most recently building pricing models impacting ~500M Amazon SKUs and improving production MAPE by 10%—and published at top venues through work at Mila. As a former ML research engineer at Unity he helped define a now-standard LLM-style approach for generative human motion, and he has co-founded a startup to bring research into product. His background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience across modalities (text, image, time series, tabular, graphs) make him adept at turning complex academic ideas into deployable systems. Notably, he balances high-impact industry deployments with active doctoral research, reflecting a rare combination of production rigor and publication-grade innovation.
