Top SchoolAnupam Upadhyay is a Staff Software Engineer in Portland with a decade of experience building large-scale distributed systems, resource schedulers, and ML infrastructure. He has driven technical strategy and execution at Stripe and was a founding engineering leader at TruEra, translating academic ML explainability research into production-grade governance and monitoring products. At Microsoft he led multiple efforts across Cosmos, HDInsight, and SCOPE—rebuilding schedulers, improving cluster reliability, and integrating GPU and TensorFlow-on-YARN workflows to enable ML at scale. He combines deep systems expertise (YARN, Tez, Spark, Hive) with practical operational instincts that have materially improved latency, utilization, and deployment safety in petabyte-scale platforms. Known for quickly prototyping high-impact solutions and rallying cross-functional teams, he also has an Apache REEF committer history demonstrating sustained open-source engagement. Trained at IIT Delhi with a dual B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, he brings research-rooted rigor to production engineering.
