Top SchoolAodong Zhang is a software engineer with nine years of experience building high-throughput, production-grade systems across major Chinese tech firms and startups. He has shipped large-scale infrastructure at Baidu—designing a high-timeliness image recycling engine, a storage system handling billions of small files daily, and operating hundreds of machines—and contributed to product features with measurable impact like traffic-light countdowns and minute-level road forecasts. As an early senior developer at Pond and currently at JD.com, he blends backend systems engineering with practical product sensibilities honed during internships at ByteDance and early frontend work. Comfortable working from 0-to-1 and in operational roles, he favors pragmatic, performance-oriented solutions over comfort—a theme reflected in his GitHub bio. He holds an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a BS in Software Engineering from Northeastern University (CN).
