Senior🎓
Top SchoolAppie Verschoor is an all-round software engineer based in Rotterdam with 13 years of professional experience building and operating Python-first web systems. He combines backend expertise (FastAPI, Flask, Django), database and DBA skills (Postgres, SQL), and devops/ops know-how (Linux, Docker, Ansible, nginx/apache, mail servers) to deliver reliable, production-ready services. His career spans public sector and media organizations—working on XBRL taxonomy tooling at Logius and long-term platform work at NRC Handelsblad—so he’s comfortable turning complex data standards into practical tooling. Appie also brings frontend and integration experience (Javascript, Vue, Elasticsearch, RDF/XBRL) and a pragmatic focus on keeping services running after deployment. A humanities graduate who migrated into software, he blends linguistic precision with engineering rigor, making him adept at transforming ambiguous requirements into maintainable systems.
