Senior🎓
Top SchoolAquiles Carattino is a deep-tech product leader and physicist with 11 years of experience turning laboratory instrumentation into commercial products and scalable teams. He has led end-to-end product launches—transforming prototypes like the NanoCET into market-ready devices and pivoting to customer-driven offerings such as the NanoQNT—while growing teams from 2 to 10 FTEs and securing early-stage funding. Equally comfortable in the lab and at the whiteboard, he combines hands-on optical and nanoparticle expertise from a Leiden PhD with practical software and instrumentation tooling (including a widely adopted Python-for-the-Lab platform and workshops). He specializes in mapping scientific uncertainty to agile roadmaps using Jobs Theory, market analysis, and direct customer interviews to spot underserved opportunities. Currently expanding VSP-P1 applications in materials science and gas sensing, he focuses on creating measurable yield and calibration improvements via spark ablation nanoparticle solutions. Known for clear communication and teaching, he blends research rigor with entrepreneurial grit to bridge science and market impact.
