Summary
Aris Papadopoulos is a Athens-based performer-maker and choreographer with a decade of practice blending dance, architecture and site-specific performance. Trained in architecture (NTUA) and dance (National School of Dance Athens), he explores landscape as a cultural construct, using movement and visuals to interrogate the meeting of built and natural environments. As co-founder of arisandmartha he has toured internationally with award-recognized works that investigate togetherness and “performing friendship,” while maintaining long-term collaborations with institutions like the Onassis Cultural Centre. His multidisciplinary projects span residencies, collective experiments and partnerships with contemporary artists and European companies, reflecting a practice equally rooted in research and playful composition. Notably, his background in architecture informs a spatially rigorous approach to choreography that reframes familiar sites as charged fields for action.
