Arnold Somogyi
Software Architect at Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG-CLIMA)
Belgium
Summary
👤
SeniorArnold Somogyi is a software architect with 11+ years designing and delivering secure, enterprise-grade integration and microservice solutions across European agencies and major banks. He combines hands-on development, middleware expertise (IBM MQ, Kafka, JMS), and cloud/container deployment (AWS, Docker) with a strong track record in project leadership, code review and Agile delivery. At DG-CLIMA he leads EU ETS application workstreams, coordinating stakeholders from business SMEs to operations while driving performance tuning, release management and proof-of-concept research. Previously he shaped PSD2 and mobile notification platforms at KBC and built cross-continental integration solutions for Commerzbank, bringing deep experience in SOA, Spring, and message-driven architectures. Known for mentoring teams and introducing BDD and CI/CD practices, he pairs pragmatic engineering with a keen interest in business domains and reusable platform components. Based in Belgium, he blends technical breadth—from mainframes to React frontends—with entrepreneurial instincts formed running his own IT services business early in his career.
