Summary
👤
SeniorAshley Barrett is a London-based Director of Engineering with over 17 years delivering high-availability, consumer-focused systems and a decade of leadership experience building cloud-native, microservice architectures that sustain triple-digit throughput. She has led distributed product engineering teams of 20+ engineers across countries, owned technical strategy and operational excellence, and introduced company-wide API standards and progression frameworks to raise engineering quality and career development. A hands-on .NET background and early full-stack experience (including iOS and PHP) give her credibility coaching engineers and making pragmatic technical trade-offs. Known for balancing business priorities with team health, she empowers engineering managers as true product owners while remaining a technical bar raiser in hiring. Her quieter strength is translating cross-functional stakeholder needs into codified processes that scale, from API governance to release approvals.
