Summary
🤩
RockstarAshwin Kulkarni is a seasoned backend engineer with 9 years of experience building high-throughput, cloud-native systems and is currently a Software Engineer 2 at Stripe in Bengaluru. He spent multiple years at IBM Cloud driving Event Notifications—architecting and shipping 20+ Go microservices that handled billions of events and improved throughput and latency through thoughtful caching, ORM optimization, and distributed schedulers. Ashwin combines systems-level performance tuning (60% throughput gains, 50% latency reductions) with pragmatic DevOps practices—Helm, container hardening, and ingress/egress policies—to deliver reliable services with six-nines-style uptime. He also contributes to and maintains real-time in-memory projects like DiceDB and mentors engineers on career growth, reflecting a blend of deep technical craft and people-focused impact. Notably, his work spans the full lifecycle from gateway/control-plane design to email security (SMTP/OAuth/SpamAssassin) for production-grade notification delivery.
