Top SchoolAurel Lazar is a Principal Software Engineer based in the Greater Seattle Area with a 15-year engineering background and nine years of focused industry experience delivering performance-sensitive game and platform systems. He has led cross-team initiatives at Rec Room—designing the Downloadable Avatar Item Pipeline and localization pipeline—that turned user-generated content into a marketplace and automated global release workflows. Equally at home in tooling, build systems, and platform ports, Aurel has shipped Rec Room on Xbox and Switch, improved CI/CD and Jenkins pipelines, and tightened memory and frame-rate budgets. Before that he scaled VR collaboration at ImmersedVR and strengthened authentication and build tooling at Microsoft, giving him deep experience across client, backend, and infrastructure. He also runs Cinderflame, LLC, applying his expertise to Unity tooling, performance engineering, and technical writing—an entrepreneurial thread that surfaces in his pragmatic, product-minded engineering. Known for bridging gameplay features with robust engineering practices, he excels at turning complex cross-disciplinary problems into automated, ship-ready systems.
