Top SchoolAustin Mcchord is a founder and technology investor who built Datto from a college basement startup into a transformative MSP-focused cloud software leader, ultimately participating in its IPO and multi-billion dollar exit. As a CEO-turned-VC and current Managing Director at Outsiders Fund, he blends operator experience with early-stage investing, particularly on the U.S. East Coast. He remains active founding and advising mission-driven ventures—from robotics leagues to park restoration projects—and serves on multiple boards, applying product and growth instincts to diverse sectors. A Rochester Institute of Technology trustee and recognized philanthropist, Austin pairs hands-on builder mentality with a knack for unconventional PR stunts (he holds the world record for the largest Googly eyes) that reflect his creative approach to community engagement.
