Top SchoolAustin Orr is a Senior Engineer with a decade of experience blending ecology and engineering to advance water resources, stormwater management, and engineered ecosystems. Based in Portland, he leads hydrologic modeling, BMP design, and permit compliance work at Geosyntec, building on a research background that quantified plant transpiration in semi-arid bioretention systems. He pairs field-honed skills—instrumentation, datalogger programming, and large dataset QA—with technical writing for environmental reports and regulatory guidance. Comfortable moving between hands-on construction oversight and complex modeling, Austin brings a practical, systems-level perspective to sustainable site design and aquatic restoration. An unexpected asset: his field experiments required plant physiology expertise and custom instrumentation design, underscoring a rare blend of ecological insight and engineering rigor.
