Senior🎓
Top SchoolAvaneesh Murugesan is an embedded systems software engineer with eight years of experience building sensing, perception, and embedded hardware-software systems across robotics and industry. He blends hands-on PCB design and firmware development with computer vision and Visual-SLAM research, notably developing multi-lighting photometric compensation and deploying pipe-inspection robots in multiple cities. A CMU master’s graduate with a UCLA BS, he has produced first-author work from both robotics and neuroscience projects and has practical experience integrating Ethernet, USB, and I2C protocols for synchronized vision systems. Avaneesh has moved research prototypes into fielded systems, fabricating 4–6 layer PCBs and optimizing perception algorithms for constrained environments. He pairs academic rigor with industry pragmatism from internships at Square and Sandia to his current role at TP-Link, and often spans the stack from FEA-informed mechanical models to embedded firmware and cloud-enabled manufacturing tests. Notably, his work reduces visual occlusions in confined spaces by combining custom lighting hardware with geometric and photometric analysis.
