Summary
👤
SeniorAxel Couty is a seasoned data engineer and founding engineer with 12 years of experience building scalable data platforms for startups and R&D teams, from Thales’ CENTAI lab to Kayrros and Heetch. He combines hands-on backend development (Java, Scala, Python, Go) with deep expertise in big data pipelines, data governance, and hybrid infrastructure design—having moved satellite-imagery pipelines from cloud-first to optimized bare-metal deployments. Comfortable in small, fast-moving teams, he has led engineering growth, platform architecture, and DevOps practices including Kubernetes, Terraform, Rancher and ArgoCD. Axel is drawn to open data, civic tech and geopolitics, and uniquely pairs production-grade engineering with exploratory OSINT and satellite-data projects. In his spare time he experiments with SaaS/data projects and even busks, reflecting a practical creativity beyond the code.
