👤
SeniorBaasit Sharief is a Sr. Data Scientist with 8 years of experience building ML and GenAI solutions, currently working on prompt engineering, RAGs, fine-tuning and distillation of smaller LLMs at Cloudera after his team’s acquisition from Verta. He holds an MS in Computer Science & Engineering with an AI specialization from University at Buffalo and a BE in ECE from BITS Pilani, and brings 3+ years of hands-on ML/DL project work alongside broader production experience. His background spans fintech, enterprise AI governance, and computer vision—at Standard Chartered he helped cut model development time by ~40% and at IISc accelerated YOLOv3 inference by 60% using TensorRT. Practical across the stack, he implements, deploys and maintains models in cloud architectures and builds developer-facing data science tooling to improve team productivity. An avid autodidact, he moves quickly to adopt new techniques in LLMs, GenAI and Responsible AI, and shares side projects on GitHub while moonlighting as a guitarist and gaming enthusiast.
